Book an appointment

How you arrange an appointment depends on whether you have seen one of our psychiatrists before.

I am a new patient

You have not seen one of our psychiatrists before. A referral is required before an appointment can be arranged, and the clinic reviews it before offering a time.

New patients: how a first appointment is arranged

Every new patient needs a referral. Online booking is available through HotDoc for both new and existing patients, but a request does not confirm an appointment. Your referral must first be received and reviewed by the psychiatrist.

  1. Step 1: Obtain the referral your service requires

Speak with your GP or another appropriate medical practitioner. A valid referral is required for a new psychiatric appointment and to claim eligible Medicare rebates.

  2. Step 2: Contact the clinic

Contact reception to begin the process. Online booking is also available through HotDoc for both new and existing patients.

  3. Step 3: Send your referral by email

Please ask your referrer to email your referral to reception@wolpsychmed.com.au. Include the name of the psychiatrist. If you have privacy concerns, contact reception before sending documents.

  4. Step 4: The clinic reviews the referral

Each referral is reviewed before an appointment is offered. Submitting a referral or an online request does not by itself confirm an appointment.

  5. Step 5: Your appointment is confirmed

If the referral is accepted, reception contacts you to arrange a time and explains any deposit required to hold the booking.

Send a referral

Please ask your referrer to email your referral to reception, addressed to a named psychiatrist. All referrals are reviewed before an appointment is confirmed.

Email is not a secure way to send personal health information. Only send information needed for your referral, with appropriate patient consent. If you have privacy concerns, call reception to discuss how to provide your documents.

A referral is not a booking

Every referral is reviewed by the psychiatrist. Receiving a referral does not guarantee an appointment. If it is accepted, our administration team will contact you directly.

Who is currently accepting referrals

Availability changes. If a psychiatrist is not currently accepting referrals, please contact reception to ask about upcoming availability.
